TIME TO SAY GOODBYE
The surge of energy passed through his veins
as he ran along the roadside
Escaping what he had known to be true
her heart leaving his heart behind
Where had he gone wrong
he looked to the heavens for answers
But found emptiness in the moments
that passed while he ran to confront her
Stay with me, were his pleads of sorrow
for his heart wasn't ready to leave
She glanced his way, then sat down beside him
she had no reason to deceive him
This is what it is, my friend
it's my time to say goodbye
A love that has fallen into the unknown
will only worsen and eventually die
I will love you always, as a good friend should
I know just how you feel
But we must do what's best for us
and keep things from becoming unreal
The path you walk will take direction
and your heart will be happy once more
Don't forget all the wonderful qualities you possess
bringing hope to loves open door
Goodbye my friend!
