Dane Cook is like any other comedian, either you love them or you hate them. I love him! Seeing actors in movies give you an idea of who the comedian is, but watching a stand up comedy show brings you the true comedian. I have seen Dane in several movie including, "Employee of the Month", "Waiting", Good Luck Chuck", and "Dan in Real Life". It was his stand up comedy special "Vicious Cycle" that hooked me into the Dane Cook world!

"Vicoous Cycle" was a stand up comedy show that touched base on different aspects of his life. He had one skit that was talking about getting into trouble with friends. He spoke about he had this desire to Break into someone's house! So he gets to the house and Kicks the door in, but then he came to thre realization that he had no intention on actually entering! The funny part is how he envisioned the family coming home to find their front door kicked in. This actually happened to my family after I had seen the skit, someone had broken into my front door, and there was nothing missing! It is very unsettling because for weeks I kept imagining what they must have taken even though I had still seen nothing missing!

My favorite skit from "Vicious Cycle" is dealing with relationship arguments. By this point in the show he had already spoken about the guilt of cheating, and how women tend to just stay in relationships for stupid reasons. The argument segment stands out in my mind because I actually fell on the floor laughing because it was that true what he was saying! Not only was he describing the female role, but his description and physical motions mimicked it perfectly. He mentioned how women have several signals during a fight. That women are mental terrorist, and that we kung fu the male brain with the smallest statements! For instance he mentioned that the moment a woman agrees with everything you are saying that the statement is coming...he also acted out the physical movements that women make right before that simple statement would come out. After the statement settles in to the male brain they just explode, and don't think of anything to say! They just state the obvious! My husband and I fit his description so perfectly that I share it with our friends that are still in the early dating stages! Dane Cook made our fighting relationship much more comical, and I actually think it helps us get over an argument easier!

Watching Dane Cook in all of the previously stated movies brings some of the "Vicious Cycle" out of him. I truly enjoyed his role in "Dan in Real Life". He showed a much more sensitive side, and it showed that Dane Cook is here to stay! He has enough talent to have a fruitful career, and will not be labeled to only comedic roles! If you have not had the pleasure of enjoying Dane Cook, make your way to your local rental store and pick something...anything!
