What a woman's shoes reveal

There are at least two different personality types lurking inside every woman. There is the personality she reveals to others, as shown by her everyday shoes. Then there is the personality she would secretly like to be more like if she had the chance and confidence, as revealed by shoes she hardly ever, if ever, wears that reside at the back of her wardrobe.

Very few women only own the shoes they can be seen wearing. Most have other shoes lurking, possibly still in their original boxes, just waiting to be stepped out in. These shoes are possibly the more interesting of the two varieties as they can reveal the part of the woman's personality that is hidden much of the time. They can also give us an indication of how she would sometimes prefer to be.

The reason for the difference in style of the two types of shoes is to do with that which is practical and that which is fantasy. The word fantasy is used loosely, as there will be an element of truth in the personality type the shoes resemble. No woman purchases a pair of thigh high pointy boots with a stiletto heel unless part of her truly wants to wear them, if only in private. Like-wise no woman buys a pair of sensible sandals to wear unless part of her is sensible. The interesting point is though, that the same woman may well own both.

All of us, whether we are men or women, have several sides to us. We have to behave in a certain way to fulfil particular obligations and to carry out tasks. It wouldn't go down well if we were behaved like a party animal while working in a funeral home or like a nun if we worked in a night-club. It is though, the female of the species who reveals this apparent parting of our desires in favour of our industrious lives most via footwear.

The type of shoes a women has stashed away for a rainy day, or preferably for a night on the tiles, are often the opposite in style and practicality to those which she wears most every day. Therefore you may find that a woman who has to wear high heels each day has a pair of tough walking boots with the label still on under her bed. A woman who rushes about all day taking the children to school and carrying out chores will probably wear flat, comfortable shoes by day. In her wardrobe there’s likely to be an unused pair of diamante sandals with heels.

As well as these two distinct types of shoes already mentioned there could be a third type. These are shoes that resemble a flight of fancy, that wasn't practical and which didn't fulfil the woman's real fantasies after all. These shoes were purchased on a whim, and because good money was spent on them the woman who has paid for them will be keeping them out of guilt.

Eventually this third category of shoes may find a new home, or may be taken to a good will shop to satisfy a woman's feelings of having made a non-purchase in the way that it was a mistake. They will be hung onto for a little while though, as the woman goes through the transition period of realising that the shoes really are wrong for her.
