Big $hot is an exciting game of business empire building, that's what it says at the start of the game at least but sadly this game is anything but exciting.
The object of this financial strategy game is to have the most money and the most property at the end of the game through buying, selling and managing your properties. The end of the game comes after 12months or 20years, you choose! 1 month equals one game turn. So the longer time frame the better as the 12 month game is just too short.
During the game play you look down on a city of buildings, there are restaurants, hotels, gas stations, banks and various stores that you can buy if you have the money and if your offer is accepted. Mine rarely were leaving me to think well if I can't buy it and it's for sale what's the point of this game? Sometimes you are invited to take part in an auction and at other times people may come to you to make a deal.
At the beginning of each month you have a chance to pay your bills, although you don't have to, you can keep people hanging on for another month or two! You also have to make repairs and can increase efficiency and the standard of your property in exchange for money. You can also buy advertising to increase traffic which would hopefully increase your monthly income!
The music is good, kind of gangster film music and actually the best thing about this game. The graphics are pretty standard, nothing exciting with hardly any interaction, after a couple of clicks you're onto the next month Boring.
When I first reading about the game I thought yep this sounds really good and I was exciting to start playing. I thought I would have a chance for my entrepreneur skills to emerge and I could practise the "property game" as a well, game! But I was left severely disappointed, the game is dull and I'd suggest you stick to a game of Monopoly if you want the change to buy, sell and make money.
I give this game 1/5. Don't be disappointed as I was; don't waste your money on Big $hot, there is nothing big about this game.
