Two sad children
One sad mom
Standing at the front door
And then I am gone
On the road again
I leave them behind
To set sail on the highway
A new place to find
Enjoying the views
But I can't wait to be home
I miss them dearly
When I'm out there alone
The days go by
And time fades away
Oh the things I miss
When I'm out on the byways
The deliveries are done
My heart skips a beat
It's time to head home
And I'm in the seat
Shifting the gears
As I roll down the road
I think of my family
More precious than gold
I'll be there real soon
but not fast enough
I push for more speed
But no such luck
The company has governed
The speed on this truck
It now seems like months
Since I was last there
My wife and my kids
Are now full of cheer
I head to the door
I greet them and then
Before I can blink
I'm leaving again!
