"The Literary Thrill Seeker"
I have a love for writing:
A love for prose and verse
But when I get my feedback
I don't know which is worse
There's this thing with paragraphing
I really don't know what to do
After ten lines I hit "enter" twice
And then I start anew
I really have no ear for meter,
Or counting beats within a line
So I read it back in monotone
And everything sounds fine
When writing songs, the words erupt
Like they're coming from a fountain
But in the end, they're all sung to
"She'll be Comin' 'round the Mountain"
I write a lot in second person
And seem to have a thing for "you"
And many times within a scene
I tend to change the Point of View
With all of these shortcomings
Perhaps, I really ought to quit
Or cut back on my output
At least a tiny little bit
But I tell you, it's impossible
The written word is too exciting
I have but one addiction
And it's called a love of writing

I never write a poem
That doesn't write itself.
I catch a buzz and come alive
