Being as I am only thirteen years old, I still feel like I still have to make alot of decisions to make before I decide what I want to do when I grow up. Though, when I'm sitting at my desk in school, I sometimes can't help wondering.
During my daydreams at school I would like to think that I would be good at something involving. Something like a detective. More of an investigator, really. The reason I say this is because I enjoy solving puzzles. And solving a crime is all about finding all the right pieces of information, and fitting them together. Being a detective also means that I could bring some of most dangerous criminals to justice. A con about being a detective is that it is very time consuming job,it could take away the possibility of having a family, which I would one day like to have. On a final note, the salary of a detective is well paying, not great, but enough to get me by and then some.
Another kind of occupation I have considered holding is that of a doctor. Doctors are on the cutting edge of health, being one would mean that I would be saving the lives of countless people. Being a doctor would also involve me being part of the solution to the many of the modern day medical mysteries. A con about being a doctor is that the hospital and its patients will consume virtually all of my time, also, I would have to see at least some patients die. On a final note, a fully paid doctor will make an enormous some of money, but, the amount of time it takes to become a fully paid doctor is vast, and by the time I get that money, I will be far past my prime. Another point on the salary is that when I would start my residency, I would have to pay back alot of money I used to get through the eight years of college and medical school.
A third option I've thought about is joining The Armed Forces. There has never been a more honorable vocation, joining the Armed forces would mean that I would be one of the many soldiers defending the country from tyranny, both foreign, and domestic. Joining the Army would also mean I would get a discount off going to college, which in any line of work, I plan on finishing. A con of joining the Army is going into other nations knowing you are going to have to kill to maintain control of the situation, doing that for a living could be, well, taxing. The salary of a soldier, not an officer, in the Army is, well, not that great, plus I certainly do not plan on staying in the Army for life, which would mean readjusting to civilian life.
For me, the future is not yet clear, I have alot of options, and I still have to make alot of decisions.
