9/11 From Across The Pond (The Whole World Died)
Two o'clock on a Tuesday, in the afternoon
I walked in & this guy says "Have you seen the news?"
He'd got the TV on & we just watched it happening
At that very moment, the next one just rolled in
Everybody stood there, no-one said a word
Some guy tried to make a joke but no-body heard
Then this girl says "Can't they stop it? They're all gonna die"
Then she had to turn away as she began to cry
Well we watched the fires burning, we watched the suicides
We watched the towers falling, we watched those people die
Within the hour all the big names said what we were fighting for
They talked of retribution, they talked about a war
It was a beautiful day, the sky was blue & I was feeling good in myself
God was in his heaven but he should have been somewhere else
The fires are still burning, you can see the smoke from space
I'm getting tired of retribution. It's in my face.
Now the Christians blame the Muslims & the Muslims blame the Jews
But following three prophets is a lame excuse
I just can't remember when I felt so sick inside
Nine o'clock, Manhattan time, the whole world died
