The perfect pair of jeans for a man to pick are those which suit his pocket, personal style and practical needs. Most men like to have at least three pairs of jeans, as they require them for different occasions. Some have work jeans, play jeans and smart jeans. Some have old pairs in which to get down on the ground in and fix the car. Every man can benefit from knowing how to pick the right jeans for the right occasion he's going to look good in, and feel good in too.

There are several different styles of jeans men can choose from. Baggy, slouchy jeans are often sported by young men. High waisted jeans are generally worn by the older generation who opt for comfort. Hipster jeans are a more trendy, and cowboy jeans are durable, functional, and can still look attractive. Lastly, drainpipe, or skinny jeans cling to the shape of the wearer.

Different types of jeans look best on particular body shapes, and all are useful for different occasions. When choosing which jeans to pick men can take these points into consideration.

Fun jeans

Even adult men need jeans to play in. Such jeans need to be strong to withstand a little rough and tumble, there-fore very thin jeans are out. Old fashioned denim jeans are still thought to be sexy enough to be seen in by the opposite sex, and are pretty hardy at the same time, so fit the bill.

Smart jeans

It's acceptable to wear smart jeans to wine bars and other places where fun style jeans would look out of place. Smart jeans are generally made of thick, dark blue denim. They don't taper in at the bottom of the ankle. They're more likely to be straight legged instead. Black jeans fit into this category, but mustn't be faded.

Work jeans

Jeans to do manual labour in need to be thick to withstand wear and tear and provide protection. Spending much money on them though, would be a waste of dollars. It's a good idea to use old jeans for such purposes. If you don't have any, consider buying second hand ones.

Comfort jeans

Jeans meant mainly for comfort need not be great to look at, but are brilliant for mooching around the house in on chilly winter evenings, They don't need to be especially durable either, so even cheap ones will do, although very cheap jeans don't always last as long as others, so may cost you more to keep replacing in the long run.

Body-shape

It's helpful for men to know which style of jeans suits them. Dark colors make the wearers legs appear longer, and lighter ones achieve the opposite. Jeans which are tight at the ankle can add weight higher up the leg, where-as jeans loose at the ankle are more slimming.

Final note

Remember to check waist and leg measurements before shopping. Base measurements on providing you with a decent fit you can comfortably move in. When measuring the length of your leg, allow for a little extra length so your jeans can cover the top of shoes and won't allow your socks to show at the ankle area.

To pick the perfect pair of jeans men need to take their body shape and requirements into consideration. By purchasing several variations of well fitted jeans, men will know they have the best jeans suitable for any occasion.
