It is true that Alex is very talented, bu, talent alone is not what makes you the best.A Rod is a very good ballplayer, poor teammate, can't hit in the clutch, makes too many errors, and just simply hot dogs too much. this man makes $28 million a year, and that's just his salary. His endorsement money is hard and difficult to really find out, truthfully. I've been an active fan since 1952 and have yet to see a single man play the game that is worth that much money, and I've seen some greats.

His batting average is not very good and he strikes out a lot. He is supposed to have a lot of power and does show it in spurts, when he feels like it. Alex is a overpaid player that is trying to get all he can get on and off the field. He wants to be accepted so bad, but , he doesn't have the right ingredients to make a good team mate. He's in the same class with another great player, Barry Bonds. Even his own teammates don't like to associate with him. He doesn't care if the team wins , as long as he looks good. As seen this past season, he doesn't take criticism very well at all. I guess he thinks because he is in New York and makes all that money everyone should bow to him. Well, you have to be a people person first and foremost in a team sport. One man doesn't controll wins and losses, especially a 3rd baseman, with average fielding skills, and very evident lack of hustle. A Rod simply needs to grow up and respect what he has and respect the people that helped get him there.

Chemistry is the name of the game in team sports and Alex doesn'y possess any that is noticeable most of the time. Jeter tries to stick up for him in some instances, which Alex doesn't even hardly acknowledge. Baseball is a 9 man team sport on the field. If Alex would just improve his fielding, genuinely show some hustle, and concentrate on the game, instead of worrying what he and Madonna are doing after the game, he would gain the respect of alot more people. Until that time, he is simpply a very good player that is grossly overpaid. At the present time the best all around player in MLB is Albert Pujols in St. Louis. This man is truly out to do whatever it takes to help his team win and after only 8 years in the league, he'll overtake A Rod in the stats anyway. Alex is still young enough to get himself righted and headed in the right direction. As good as he is, he would be another Bonds going to a different team. The owner would pay him well, but , teammates would not welcome him with open arms. Just as nobody wants Bonds on their team. While Alex is a very good player, he won't reach stardom that everyone thinks he has until he plays the game as it shoould be played, not just go thru the actions and collect his enormous paycheck.
