I can't believe this question is even being asked! Have we lost all of our creativity....or are this musicians so eager to make it big, that they are willing to use someone else's hard work to get there! It is bad enough that producers are using the same beats over and over again, that the music industry has become very bland! Everything sounds the same there are very few artist out right now that actually sound decent live!

Copyright laws were created to protect the writers, and it's ironic that it's the writers today, that are trying to sneak passed the red tape. Even if the writer was going to use the lyrics in a entirely different music genre it still would NOT BE OKAY! American people have a serious problem with taking what they want, and leaving the rest and this is valid for so many different walks of life. The worst part about this situation is most of the people listening to regular radio anymore probably don't even notice that the lyrics are being plagiarized! The listeners ears have become numb to music. If they weren't numb half of the crap that is being played on the radio today would not even get any air time. I might sound old fashioned, but I assure you I am still in my twenties, and I am disappointed in the music industry right now.

There are probably some really great new musical acts starting out right now, that are not going to get the appropriate support because of the musical downloading and on demand programing. People are not going to the store to buy the cd anymore so there isess and less profit. I am sure that is why this question is being posed, since there is less profit there is probably no money left over for royalties! Is the problem that there are not enough recording studios, and the artist and writers are being represented by too few people? If the publicist/ agents are working together to share profits that would explain why lyrics are being shared the way that they are!

Hopefully if this ever does reach court that this is dealt with in law...not money. Too often are stars getting preferential treatment. I am not sure if it is because they are rich, or famous, but they seem to continually buy there way out of trouble over an over again. If this were to be approved there would be no sacred forms of media anymore. This epidemic of loss of creativity would next carry over to the movie and television industries and all forms of entertainment would be corrupted.
