Childhood is a very important yet crucial part of life that eventually shapes up our lives in adulthood. Good or bad memories play a vital role in giving us the freedom to make major decisions and critical choices later in life. My Childhood had been a good one with just few glimpses of low points. But at this point in my life if I were to reflect on my life, my childhood memories are the best. Although some of these memories are vague but clearly indicating a happy, delightful child with a free soul.
I was blessed to be born in a family where we could afford all the basic necessities of life plus the luxuries. Since my childhood I had spotted two of my main interests, one being active in sports and other reading which I fully retained to this day and has proved to be helpful in uplifting my spirit when I am down.
My father was in military forces so we moved a lot traveling to different places, changing schools every 4 to 5 years was quite a challenge, adjusting to the changing environment and making new friends, but eventually got into the habit of keeping our ties loosely attached. Although this also presented an opportunity to expand our social circle but still leaving behind some good old friends was a painful part. Especially some of the relatives who made profound impact in my life are my maternal grandmother. Her house was a central family unit where everyone was warmly welcomed, whether it would be a nosy neighbor, old friend or even an old maid. My grandmother was a very kind woman (may god bless her soul) and the entire neighbor ladies pour out their hearts, discuss family problems and she used to listen with deep sympathy and compassion and console them as needed. I was just a silent observer in the background too young to understand but just pleased to see the ongoing events. She also spoiled me with toys, occasional trips to park and listening to my endless and nonsense stories. We used to visit my grandmother a lot, so that kept building up all the pleasant memories and when we were away it was an agony to this day I recall. I miss her.
I have also been blessed with a close cousin with whom I have been sharing my secrets since childhood even until now. Another precious memory is holding my youngest baby sister for the first time. She was the most beautiful human baby I had seen and a very calm and sweet child. I love her very much.
Another of my childhood companion was my favorite bike gifted to me by my parents on my 5th birthday
