In the Indiana Jones saga, the adventure began with Harrison Ford's ability, to internalize the character "Dr. Jones", he showed us how a thirst for education can be deadly! If an "educated person" had to be couragous, then in Raiders of the lost Ark, Indy showed us that, education can get you far, and then it can get you killed. in order to be a great archeologist, you must be a a great geographer. If you knew some of Earth's most bizarre secrets or artifacts, you must also know how to get there, and how you can survive the trip. Going into the Amazon is not like the zoo, niether is climbing down the rope into a snake infested tomb is like going to the library. These wonders of the world where so death-defying, it made you think if Harrison Ford is an extremist.
Dr. Jones has seen everything for voodoo medicine warlords, immortal knights protecting the Holy Grayle, to the supernatural beings itself. Through archeology, Dr. Jones and his father were students to the ancient craft of man. Although, he and his father didn't always agree, both men would would one day drink from the immortals!
Dr. Jones taught at the university, as a front for being a tomb raider! In the first segment, we are introduced to Indiana, watching him navigate through a booby trap cave. In pursuit of a precious gold statuette, Dr. Jones risk life and limb, from closing cavern doors, poisonous spears, and a huge ball just inches from crushing him. Dr. jones efforts inspired gangs and governments alike to use Indiana to get there hands on these valued treasures. Dr. Jones ability to read maps, and hyroglifics help navigate his exploiters, but their apathy for the history of the artifact lead to the villians doom. Little things that Dr. Jones knew like "closing your eyes when the ghost appear" made Indy a hero and a survivor all at once!
Dr Jones battle with witchcraft was just as excilerating! In the second segment, a psychological face off with a vodoo priest nearly ripped his heart out of his chest, literally! Dr. Jones study of languages, helped complete is title as archeologist. If you battle a "lord of Illusions", you mind must be your strongest weapon. Your threshold for reality will help you overcome deception.
In truth, your belief in God, makes you a great archeologist. In every film, Dr. Jones always had a biblical circumstance. The Ark of Covenace was possessed by spirits. The voodoo priest challenged Jones' spiritual beliefs. The search for The Holy Grayle involved the possibility of immortality. The Crystal Skull is cursed, need I say more? Dr. Jones Biblical knowledge is the epitome of his archeological trade. If you like world history, then you would like Biblical history. Although there are atheist, even if you did not want to believe in God, this planet has proven to have some staggering proof of celestial artifacts. Julius Ceaser may have burnt down The Hall of Records, but Indiana Jones would've found these "Dead Sea Scrolls", and other artifacts to prove that mankind is not the only kind of existence. Who is Laura Croft, without Indiana Jones? Who is Indiana Jones without Ernest Hemingway? A Tomb Raider is not only an extremist for courage, but for education as well!
