What it means to me to be a Republican is something I carry with pride. I have been reading these articles on what it means to be Republican. WHAT!? Obviously those who chose to write on this topic are not Republicans. They are obviously liberal democrats trying to smear the ideology of the Republican Party. I want to clarify some of the things that have been thrown out there to give a better prespective of what most Republicans are.
Here, in my own view, is what it means to really be a Republican. First and foremost, Republicans believe that there should be far less government and more power to the people. Abraham Lincoln was one of the greatest presidents of this country's history. He whole heartedly believed that all men are created equal as our founding fathers did. He fought and died believing that every American regardless of skin color or religion should be allowed to be free. How can any one of you sit there and say that we like to keep all races suppressed and that we fear all races? How dare any of you say something so horrible? We believe in freedom of speech even if it offends some, it is still our right to speak. We believe in equality for everyone regardless of religion, race, or gender. We believe that God in Heaven is our creator, and we believe that sustaining life is of the utmost importance. We believe that abortion is murder. We believe that a strong military is essential in protecting our sovereignty. We believe that the government should give a hand up not a hand out. We believe in free markets and less regulations. We believe in less government interference in the private sector. We believe that this country was founded under God. We believe in our constitution and that the Supreme Court justices should follow the constitution as set forth by our founding fathers and not legislate from the bench. We believe that every American should have the right to follow their dream without the interference of the government through mandates, regulations, and taxes. We believe that less taxes grows the economy. We believe in helping those that are less fortunate. We believe that in order for the government to work right, it must remain small. We believe that there needs to be less spending, less earmarks, less pork. We believe that we have enough oil to sustain our country for the next 60 years; we believe that there are better ways to save the environment than by having the government mandate and regulate businesses into bankruptcy. We believe that
