The Great White
The ocean’s darkness reveals only the shark’s teeth.
It moves
and slowly its perfect structure becomes clear.
Effortlessly, the solitary creature grazes the open waters.
It travels
lacking fear and unquestionably possessing its instinctual purpose.
It’s powerful and its unmistakable shape haunts its accidental audience.
In an instant
it can change direction and replace its calculated strategy for action.
The patient observation of its victim is over.
It’s skillful
and an expert of its function.

The sand between my toes

Land sharks have no heart

Gliding through the waves
Beautiful yet deadly
An omen of death
Spotting its prey
It accelerates
