Solitude
Solitude is a graceful state of looking to one's self
Finding one's true inner being
Hearing the peace of God's creations
Seeing these creations, and reaching out to touch the sky
Oh but being within this state, you can find true inner peace
You can look into your past and forgive yourself for your mistakes
And you can stay in the present and be grateful you have learned
From your mistakes...thus forgiving thyself
Picture yourself sitting by a stream
The water keeps moving...it never stops
It flows without form, and it has no hindrance as to its origin
And it keeps flowing, as your thoughts should flow
But we must not confuse solitude with loneliness
I could be in a large crowd, and feel so lonely
With the loneliness can easily surface sadness
And with sadness comes remorse
With the remorse comes guilt, low self esteem
And "I wish I never would have done that" or
"Said this"
For this is the state of being that leaves you with a heavy heart
Once famous poet refers to this as "Self Pity"
There are times when you cross paths with one which you connect
One that identifies with you and understands your peace
There is honest insight, feedback, and truth
Feelings are shared, laughter and tears
And there is a love
A bond with this person
And in this moment, you wish you could touch a face
Feel the energy, and yearn to speak words
An "I love you" A "thank you" A "believe in me"
Knowing the strength abound, even a "Help me"
I know this moment, one I have found in Solitude
All of these scenarios run thru my mind
When I am alone, at peace with nothing
When my heart, mind, and spirit spill into that stream
Next time, I say, with this special moment to myself in Solitude
I'll feel the inner peace; allow my heart and soul to flow like water
See and feel God's creations, and reach out and touch...
your face
a belief
the sky

Her fragrance lingers in the heat
