Love, is an emotion that everyone will feel at some point in their lives. Finding love can be very hard and when we do come across an individual who truly defines it, how can we not want to hold onto the feeling forever? Some individuals choose to love those of the same sex, while others find the feeling to be natural from the start. Whether they woke up and decided they want to play for the same team or have always felt that way, marriage may be how they want to express their love. Why should we have the power to determine whether or not they can be married legally?
I don't believe that it is ok for us to take away the joy and happiness of marriage from them. I understand and respect those who oppose it but, their marriage should not be our choice. I don't judge people by their sexual preferences. To judge someone based on their sexual preference is very ignorant. I think that who you choose to date is your business. There are so many other other issues in this world to be debated about and I don't think that gay marriage should be one of them. How can we be going through such a hard time and have who a person marries as such an issue? It is not fair that because a person decides to spend the rest of their life with someone of the same sex, they're left out because it is "unacceptable" to a lot of society. What happened to everyone being created equal? If that is true, then those who are gay should have the same right as those who are straight. They should have the freedom to marry as they please. Still to those who are against the whole idea of gay marriage, I wonder if they would change their mind if the shoe was on the other foot.
The Bible should not play a part in the decision making of whether or not gay marraige should be legalized. Religion as well as religious beliefs are not for everyone. There are some people who do not believe in the Bible and what it says. While their are others like my self, who do believe in the Bible but at the same time feel that gay marriage is fine.
I would never try to change those who are against it because that is their choice. I do feel that just because it is their choice, they shouldn't punish those who are gay. They should give them the right to marry just as any other couple is allowed to. You can not choose who a person falls in love with. I think that they need to stop trying to take that freedom away from them. Gay marriage should be legalized, lets give them their choice.
