Poetry: Beyond love

My Love

The day is almost over, but my mind can't seem to settle

I'm thinking of you thinking of me

And I'm wondering where those thin white ribbons of happiness have gone

My eyes are left wishing to see your face

My ears longing to hear you speak

Your voice is the sound of my broken heart mending

My veins untangle, un-strangle

Releasing my throat at the mere mention of you

And I can breathe once more

I imagine us together

Holding hands as lovers often do

But it isn't real

It is just a dream

A beautiful lie I made up in my desperate mind

A little story I like to tell myself before bed

And it helps me sleep at night

Tears no longer fall when the sun goes down

I often find a small smile on my face when I sit by the window

Gazing up at the moon

And hoping that you are still a part of this world

The best part!

This fall into hopeless love and admiration

Has left me with few choices

Watch and love you from afar

As your friend and companion

Or tell you of these churning emotions and risk losing you forever

It is such sweet torture!

And I savor the pain

For I can finally feel

And it is all because of you,

My love
