A Perfect Moment
I hear the rhythm of your heart
Beating in your chest
And the heat of your body
Passes through the fabric
Of your dark colored clothing
The static noise of the television
Is of little importance to me
Because I am cuddled close to you
And I feel so safe
Lying here with you
We should probably turn off the television set
And then find something to drawn the silence
But this moment is so perfect
Neither of us is willing to end it
So we remain still and silent
Breathing softly as we slip away together
Into a peaceful sleep
