In the 21st century, the "Dress Code" statue has changed, more employers want their employees to feel relaxed and not "choked up" when coming to work. I am in telecommunications. Now in this field, most people would imagine that you'd have to where a suit, for the sake of professionalism. In actuallity, it is the complete opposite. A good supervisor at a call center understands that comfort is the primary element. The first question asked is "Can you sit at a desk for 8 hours?" Now come on, inspite the fact that i love wearing suits, sitting at a desk for 8 hours, in a call center, is already brutal, much less in a suit. Now I know what you're thinking, but most cubicle work environments are decorated so completely, the job is basically allowing you to bring a little "home" to work. So not enforcing a dress code is logical. However you just can't go to work in your pajamas, so here are some things i do to keep my look "casually professional".
The new stylish dress code, must have clothing made of rayon or silk-like materials. In the film "The Matrix", Keanu Reeves (Neo), wore a raw silk emsemble, that made him look serious or business-like, just as much as it made him look menacing. Silk and rayon are very sexy, so button up! You don't want management liking you in the wrong way, in regard of sexual harassment. With a simple pair of slacks, courderoys, even jeans, a rayon shirt presents discipline as the material drapes over you like a robe with a long or short sleeve button ups.
If wearing a sweater is you forte', consider the newly styled belt cut sweaters. On althletes, these sweaters feature their physique, but with a t-shirt underneath, you'll remind you bosses of their collegiate years, when cardigans rule the sweater world. A turtle neck sweater establishes discipline, covering the neck, and contributing your facial features to your admirer. The cardigan sweater is still my personal favorite, Bill Cosby wore it the best! A golf sweater by IZOD, or golf shirt is an excellent knock off for a blazer/slacks attire. If you job allows you to wear jeans, the sweater is the epitome of casual business fashion!
A hard working person can't just wear the same shoes everyday, loafers with rubber outsoles, instead of hard outsoles, break the leather material perfectly for comfort and a quick look out the door. Although some offices allow tennis shoes, if "corporate" is coming to view company ethics, a penny loafer or slip on shoe can be a great accent. Now new designs
