Republican by far.

I say this as a fascinated bystander not able to vote. All the world is watching with bated breath to see how this Federal Election of '09 is going to turn out.

I would sleep better at night if I knew John McCain is elected President with Sarah Palin as Vice President and I do my sleeping away off in Australia.

Why is this so?

It really depends on what issues you consider most important for the survival of the US as a viable national entity and respected world power.

The USA is at the cross roads for economic survival. What the voters decide on the 4th of November 2008 will determine whether it sinks out of sight, or swims to fight another decade or two. Always there will be political challenges to overcome and the USA has a pretty good batting average to draw upon for inspiration to achieve success in getting out of the present economic crisis.

Many of the domestic issues do not concern me as I do not live in the USA. As students we absorbed the American culture and all the political nuances, to come up with views that we thought were best. Then many of us went home and stirred the local pot, if thought necessary!

My prediction is that the USA and the Bush administration will eventually be remembered and admired for NOT having ratified the Kyoto Protocol, which
