Job hunting on the Internet

Job hunting on the Internet is highly effective because its so much easier to sit at home on the computer than going out and looking on shop windows.

But people say its harder for some one over 60 years to get a job. Reality is, its nearly impossible for a person under the age of 20 years to get a good quality and high paying job.

These days they want experience, qualification, education and good looks! How can some one just out of high school be able to say 'I have the qualifications, I've had experience and I'm educated to be lawyer'. None thats how many.

I mean its hard for someone over 60 years to find a really physical job and easier for teenagers but even physical jobs like construction you need red cards and education to even be able to step onto a construction site.

With on line job searches you can get a person interested in you and your resume until they find out how old you are and question your ability to to the job you have been requested to do.

Maybe the ball is in the same Court for over 60s and under 20s. Why is it that under 20s are labelled as pimple faced fast food workers and the over 60s as retired pension suckers?

Why is that people in between these ages are labelled as the hard working citezens that have real jobs with real income?

The internet is wide place for job searches (if they are not a scam) and can be succesful, if you know what to look for. I personally have had no luck what so ever with finding a job on line and offline as I am still unemployed, so if any one has an offer ;). But seriously finding work in australia is like finding a needle in a hay stack, no wait, like finding a silver needle in a truck load of gold needles!

Impossible.

Well not impossible as in making a phone call to an information centre (like one where they say they are in your town when they are half way across the world trying to sell you something pointless), impossible as in getting a celebrities phone number (possible but really hard)

On line job searches are very useful if you have children and the only time you get out is when you shopping or doing something for the kids.

To me I think age plays a huge role in the employment industry. Just the other day I responded to a Job available ad in the local news paper, I acted keen and friendly, the bloke seemed interested and was ready to set up an interveiw, he then asked for my age and phone number, I gave him my phone number and every thing was OK, then I told him I was 16, his response- "Oh ok, so you 16? Well I'll call you today and set up an interveiw, I'll give you the time".

And guess what!

He never called.
