Why is communication and trust vital to any relationship? Without communication and trust, the relationship is sure to end, and that is a sad thing if they couple loves each other. Most of the time though when a relationship ends because of the lack of communication or trust this means the couple has found someone else whom they can communicate better.

In a loving relationship, communication is vital to keep it a loving relationship. There are all types of communication with in a relationship, verbal and nonverbal. Both types are essential in any given relationships. The touching, hugs, kisses, making love are just as important as the words in a relationship. If your partner is not talking or touching you as he or she used too, you begin to loose trust.

What type of relationships do you see where the couple does not talk to each other or touch? A dying relationship or perhaps it is already dead. That is not something you want, so that is why all those verbal and non-verbal communication need to be kept active.

When a couple stops communicating because of parenting constraints, or even job requirements the relationship will surely falter and the trust soon follows. When a couple quits communicating they soon find someone else whom they can communicate with, and trust is out the window. This happens often and often when one partner finds someone else to trust and communicate with outside the marriage or partnership a physical affair often happens.

An affair is bound to happen to any relationship where the communication has gone, and trust will quickly follow once one looks outside the relationship for comfort. There are different types of affairs, and all of them will destroy any trust that was left in the relationship. An affair leads to communication between the couple and most of the time the innocent partner yells and screams at the one who had the affair. It is communication true, but not the kind that is healthy in a relationship.

While some couples learn to communicate better after an affair and the couple can work together to save their marriage, many relationships totally dissolves. The trust is gone, forever. Communication broke down in my marriage because I was busy with the kids and my work. I did not realize that my husband was struggling with his mental illness. I was going to counseling but he found another woman who shared his mental illness and they could relate better. I was bitter for a long time, but I realize now that it was lack of communication on both sides that lead to the all the other issues we had. Communication and trust go hand in hand in a relationship, without one, you cannot have the other.
