Poetry: When you are set free

Come Walk With Me,

You Can Be Free!

You can walk outside

any time you want.

You can walk

on the green, green grass,

or through the loose dirt.

Stay as long as you like.

Wow, you can look at the sky,

the sun, the stars, the moon.

You no longer are

under that person's rule.

No longer are you

someone else's timid fool.

Locked in a cage,

well, it might be a big house,

going somewhere,

the chains held you down.

Back to the cave, the cage,

the house of gloom.

How can they not see

you are not in a tomb?

You are a real person,

human being, and strong,

Why won't they let you go

where you know you belong?

Why do some people think

they must tell others

the way; why not let people

have their own life?

Not make them stay.

Let them go, set them free.

When you are set free,

go live your dreams!

Make those goals now,

don't settle for less.

Live your life, please,

get out of that stress.

Run, walk, get help

if you must:

It's out there,

out past that door,

Just take the first step.

Come walk with me,

Set Yourself Free!
