Poetry: Hate

by AWayWithWords

Created on: October 04, 2008

I feel it once more,

Nipping at me, wrapping it's fingers around my ankles.

Gently, gently, it tugs.

If you look away you can pretend it's not there.

Gently, gently, it tugs.

I've felt it before, I'd let it build against me.

So with time it had the strength,

To rip my legs from beneath me,

And leave me paralysed and unable,

To see aynthing else but it's eyes.

Its black, black eyes.

So deep, so dark, so dangerous.

They stare at me, bore into me,

I couldn't get free, I couldn't escape.

Amo, Amas, Amat, Amamus, Amartis, Armant.

Amas, you can love.

I hate.

It did go away, after six months of fire.

It's black turned brown, amber, green.

His eyes saved me, kept me safe,

For nine months more.

But now?

Gently, Gently, It tugs.

Gone today, Here tomorrow.

He won't save me this time,

It won't be the same.

Because hate can change,

Become your reformed self,

Find your new fears and bend them.

Back into the darkness,

Back into the fear,

Where nothing is right,

And Only Hate is clear.
