Poetry: Mine

by AWayWithWords

Created on: October 04, 2008

Mine.

Head down, walking to you're house,

Hedge row fluttering by.

Black shapes emerging from the tree,

Only the last one is You.

Smile, creeping, spreading, glowing.

Walking towards you, those last tricky steps.

So long, so drawn out, so unnecessary.

One more step.

Your arms snaking around my waist,

They fit just fine.

Your nose tipping down to reach mine,

Lips brushing my skin.

My nose buried against your neck,

Breathing deep, just to remember.

Standing alone, together, for just a few seconds.

Then you smile.

World flies by.

Cars flash past.

I don't care.

Now everyone knows:

I'm yours. And you are mine.
