Everything in a marriage can be worked out no matter how big or small that the issue might be. If your marriage is on the rocks then you need to examine what caused you to get there and how you might go about fixing it before you end up getting a divorce.
There are many ways to mend a marriage such as taking baby steps to rekindle the love that you once had for one another or you could seek outside help such as a councilor to help you fix your relationship.
I can tell you from experience that nothing in your marriage will get fixed without the help of you and your spouse but it is important that one of you take the first step in mending your marriage.
There was a reason that you got married and it was probably love. You should take a step back and remember the love and how you felt when you first got married. Those butterflies in your stomach were there for a reason and the feeling is oh so good. Get the feeling back by making a promise to yourself to remember how you felt the day you fell in love and do this every time you are around your spouse.
The one thing that I tell many couples who ask my advice on having a happy marriage is to make a promise to always be the best spouse that you can be. If you are the best spouse then they will see this and your marriage will be much happier. My husband and I have made a commitment to always be together and divorce is not an option. Since divorce is not an option for us we always do our best to work everything out to the best of our abilities. We may not always see eye to eye but we often compromise on every aspect of our lives together.
If you want to fix your marriage then you need to do whatever it takes to make it work. Don't use excuses such as the kids as a reason to stay in the relationship, you need a reason such as that you love this person and are willing to do whatever it takes to be with them.
Once you make a commitment to do what it takes to stay married you need to talk to your spouse about your feelings and why you want this to work. See what their response is and if they are game then you can start to build on your marriage to make sure that you will always do whatever it takes.
If you are both willing to do whatever it takes to make your marriage work you will be able to open doors that you never thought possible before. When you make this decision you will see that things will get easier for you and that life isn't just about being in love, it is about working through those problems and standing by that person side through everything. Marriage is work and if someone tells you different then they are lying.
