One, two, three
drops that seem to fall so easily
like everything on earth was planned to be...
down from the sky
patterns form in front of my eyes
and I can finally let go of my control
there's got to be a purpose in a world where water flows
always to a source, does not run dry
there's always more
there's got to be a romance in world like this
where seasons bring a change
only the dead can miss
there's more to us than meets the eye
there's goodness in the hands
that fix broken bones
and broken hearts
and broken plans
the numb is balanced out
by the pain and by the joy
the lost find connection
even if only once and then passed by
cling ever to the memories of life before the lost
and cling to the belief
that only the good things have this cost.
