How to train a therapy dog

by the dog. They will observe his temperament, noticing if he is a barker or is aggressive in any way. They will go to a crowded area and observe the dog to see if he is nervous around a lot of people. These are just some of the items of the test. After all is said and done and your dog passes these parts of the test, you will be a proud owner of a therapy dog! You should experience one of the best feelings of your life, and your dog knows he did something special as well.

In summary, my wife takes Yoshi to the local nursing home a couple of times a week and the patients just adore him. The staff also look forward to seeing him and sometimes save some treats for him. Yoshi has a therapy dog vest that he wears, and as a therapy dog he can go practically anywhere. We even took him on a plane for a cross-country trip and he did fantastic. A nice benefit is that we were able to blow through the security line! You will be so proud with all the looks you will get when people notice you have a therapy dog that does something positive for people, and you can't buy the feeling. There is some hard work to get there, but it's all worth it in the end.

Check it out, you will find a whole new area in your life that is so rewarding for you, the dog, and the patients.
