Three good reasons to vote for Barack Obama: The Past, The Present and The Future
The Presidential Election is not far off. The mud is really going to fly in the next few weeks, and this is an important time to remind voters that we, the registered voters of <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:off ice:smarttags" />America decide who will be president and no one else. Before you mark your ballot this November, I invite you to take some time to just stop and think. Think about the past, think about the present, and, most of all think about our future. These are three good reasons to vote for Barack Obama.

When thinking about the past, start in the year 2000 and decide if you want more of the same. George W. Bush came to office in 2000 with no war, general prosperity throughout the country and a nice, budget surplus. Now, almost eight years later, we are embroiled in war on a number of fronts with no end in sight. The prosperity of eight years ago has turned into the crash of the banking system with effects not only on Wall Street and in everyone's 401-K, but also in markets around the world. America's nice, budget surplus and general prosperity have become the largest budget deficit in history, (a budget deficit larger than all 42 other presidents combined, I might add) and general uncertainty about the future. Maybe the war was necessary and maybe it was not, but it does bear some striking similarities to another war, the war the Soviets waged in Afghanistan in the 1980s.
If you remember, the Soviet Union was a super power back then and a major U.S. competitor. The Russians spent all their money and all their time chasing Afghanis around the hills until the Soviet Union went bankrupt! Does that have a familiar ring? It is a known tactic of Osama bin Laden. Russia's failure in Afghanistan indirectly led to the complete, irreversible collapse of Russia as we knew it. Now, America is having little more in the way of success in their own "Super Power versus the Insurgents War". All American has really accomplished in Iraq is the depletion of our nation's budget, the financing of this country's future and the painful drive down the path to our own destruction. I call it the "Rope a Dope" in honor of Muhammad Ali who used similar tactics to overpower a much stronger and younger George Foreman. Everyone thought Foreman would win, and watched as he pounded and pounded
