Nannies: Find the best nanny for your child

Finding a nanny to take care of your child is like finding the best employee for a company. It is important to choose a nanny who is trustworthy in the first place. When choosing a nanny, it is better to write down what you expect from a nanny.

A nanny's duty is to take care of your child which includes feeding them, playing with them and teaching them. But if you are looking for nanny housekeepers, you would probably have to give them a higher salary. Before hiring the nanny you should always clearly tell her what roles you expect from her.

To find the best nanny for your child, it is better if you can register with agencies. You can ask for their resumes, find their background information and talk with them to get an idea of who they are. When setting up an interview, choose a time where children are also present. This way you can find out how they interact with the child. Most agencies provide American nannies who are professionally trained but they ask for high salaries. But if you are away from home most of the time, choose this kind of nannies, so that you do not need to worry about your kid when you are away.

Wonderful nannies for your child would probably be the ones who are experienced and who know what it is like a child's mind. The younger nannies would not know the tricks of getting your child to eat and to stop his crying. But some parents like the younger nannies whereas some families look forward to hiring experienced nannies. When hiring an experienced nanny, you can contact the families she has worked for in the past and ask them how she behaved with the kids to get a good idea whether she is trustworthy. You would not want someone who steals from your house, while baby sitting, would you?

If you prefer a live-in nanny, make sure that she fits your lifestyle, your family values and habits. Be sure to give a list of your family rules before hiring her. It is up to you to decide whether should you treat her as an employee or a family member. Being treated as a family member would increase the nanny's faith in you and would offer her best service to the child.

If you keep the above facts in your mind when choosing nanny, you will be able to find the best for your child.
