Poetry: Alone

by Richard Polk

Created on: October 03, 2008

Alone

Why do I feel so alone

These daily activities

That usually bring me pleasure

Offer up no comfort

Who but you Lord

Can fill this bottomless pit

That echo in the empty canyons

Of my scorched heart

Fill me up with your everlasting love

Let your mercy and compassion

overwhelm me with peace

Quench my thirst this I pray

Help through the day
