The Emus
What on Earth? What the heck,
Is the bird with the long, blue neck?
Eyes like buttons
Feathers of Brown
And Legs so long
they seem overgrown!
Why is she looking at me?
I think you might agree.
A thump and a hiss
A threatening loom
Claws are so big
I feel an imminent doom
He's slightly smaller in size
With the same round orange eyes.
A grunt he gives out
As he wanders behind,
His girl is the boss
I think you will find!
On arrival I was terrified
Of the legend of Bonnie and Clyde'.
But after a while
They became rather nice
They'll eat from your hand
And bread will suffice.
These birds are wonderful creatures
With amusing and likable features.
The eggs will hatch soon
And they'll beam with pride
Those funny old birds
Named Bonnie and Clyde!

The softest pinks and stormy grey
