Terror chills my spine as I look down.
A frozen body with no hope left,
my eyes bold and search for a thumping chest.
A gripping hand, any sign of breath.
This is no stranger we share so much.
Don't know his name, or from where he came.
Yet still I feel obliged to stay,
to sit beside the reeper's prey.
My work can wait, this is my day.
If he dies a piece of me he takes.

Tormented soul drenched with guilt
Begging for pardon when she'll pass
