There are genuine single parents,
full of life and full of zest,
they'd work every hour of every day,
for their children they do their best.
Their children are their lifeblood,
for both fathers and their mothers,
they really do a first class job,
then sadly you have the others.
I am a single mother,
I've seven children under nine,
I live my life on benefits,
but social work say, that's fine.
They help me claim more money,
while my partner works on the side,
but I say I'm living on my own,
the hubby I have to hide.
When they're giving houses out,
I always top the list,
while I am given priority,
your applications missed.
I've never worked a day in my life,
I do not see the need,
the state is there to keep me,
I've got nine hungry mouths to feed.
Yes you read it properly,
there's seven children and there's me,
then there is my husband,
who no one's allowed to see.
All of my childrens fathers,
are well and still alive,
but they don't pay towards their keep,
they also like to skive.
I've often sat and wondered why,
no one takes me to task,
about being single with all these kids,
but they don't ever ask.
They must know I am conning them,
I'm guilty of deception,
if none of my kids have a dad,
is that immaculate conception.
How can these people be so dense,
it takes two to make a child,
yet they still believe I'm on my own,
I've got them all beguiled.
Now they're saying I'll have to work,
that'll cause a lot of fights,
my lawyer whom I get for free,
says this breaches my human rights.
Then if they try to make me work,
when my youngest is one year old,
I'll just have another ten,
that will get them told.
I'll win my case then sue them all,
for causing me undue stress,
then I'll be on the sick for life,
while they pay for all the mess.
The good thing about this life is,
to us it's all a game,
you encourage us to live as parasites,
then expect us to feel shame.
It's the governments fault we're like this,
all our lives we've lived for free,
if you think we're going out to work,
none of us will agree.
We know how to work the system,
it's you who gets all confused,
we know every nook and cranny,
it was made to be abused.
Then we have the voluntary agencies,
who'd believe anything we say,
if we turn on the tears for them,
we will always get our way.
Why should you be allowed to retire,
how dare you become ill,
we need your taxes more than you,
we have our lifestyle to fulfill.
So go and pick on someone else,
you can have your pick,
force the pensioners back to work,
or why not the genuinely sick.
So get off your arse and work for us,
being single isn't funny,
we work hard to produce the kids,
that's why we deserve more money.
Why should we be made to work,
we keep millions in employment,
looking after our welfare,
ensuring our enjoyment.
Just leave us as we are please,
we don't need to train,
we prefer to live just as we are,
from working we must refrain.
We say this even more so now,
we are in a deep recession,
the fact you're trying to make us work,
has given us all depression.
You can't blame us for being this way,
though we're rotten to the core,
the answer to all your problems is

In the crowded streets of mire
A concrete city over exposed,
To winds of social fire.

To be born under dim stars is to sin
A sin greater than murder or rape,
