or not it is dangerous and whether or not it is a gateway drug. Certain medical advice claims using it can lead to psychotic illness, depression and lead to violence. Those who disagree say it mellows users and is far safer than alcohol. Either way, is someone who uses marijuana more likely to progress to hard drugs such as herion, which are undoubted killers? Some would argue yes, others would say no. The main problem is that even the experts cannot agree. In Britain it was downgraded, but now it appears the Government there are having a rethink and upgrading it again. Some doctors tell you it is bad for you, others will say it helps ease all sorts of conditions such as arthritis and rheumatism.
On a personal level, I have never wished to use a prostitute, but I know a number of men who have indulged. They are for the most part level-headed members of society in long-term relationships. They believe they are doing something quite natural, even if they feel guilty about it for a few days afterwards. It does seem right in our liberal society that maybe they ought to be able to have a choice and decide for themselves. If it is legalized, the trade will have to be policed closely to ensure underage men/youths are not sucked in and also to ensure health levels.
As for marijuana, the jury is still out. But it has been out for so long. I tend to err on the side of caution. We do not have any overwhelming evidence either way. Therefore, let's be careful.
