Liposuction Facts

Liposuction first gained great popularity among Hollywood's Rich & Famous Stars. Now the masses are aware of liposuction benefits.

Liposuction is a surgical method to remove fat out of the body. Abdominal Liposuction (tummy tuck)is one of the most popular surgeries, according to the (FDA) Federal Drug Administration.

Here's how the liposuction procedure is performed on patients: A surgeon makes small incisions into the patients skin and then

places a tube in the incisions. The tube sucks out the fat under the patients skin.

Liposuction Methods

The most popular Liposuction method, until recently, was tumescent liposuction. In this procedure the patient is injected with a saline solution which separates fat from the patients soft tissue in the body, and then the fat suctioning process starts.

Ultrasonic Liposuction has gained great popularity in recent years. This procedure is not for everyone. If you are in good shape or very muscular this type of procedure is a perfect match. Ultrasonic Liposuction liquefies fat and makes it easier to remove out of the patients body. Whereas tumescent liposuction merely turns the fat into a semi-solid state or often the fat remains solid. The surgeon must work harder to remove the solid fat.

Liposuction Recovery

During the Liposuction Procedure the patient may be awake or asleep. If the patient was awake during the Liposuction procedure, recovery is rapid. The patient is up and moving about quickly. If the patient was asleep during the liposuction procedure the recovery period takes a few days.

Liposuction Cost

Often, thrifty patients select a surgeon based on a lower cost. Often a lower cost procedure will cost the patient more in the long run. Surgeons with less experience or who are not Board Certified might call themselves Board Certified Cosmetic Surgeons. And
after a botched procedure by this surgeon the patient will end up going to another surgeon to correct the first procedure. So, Buyer Beware!
