John McCain has never been one to sit on the sidelines when there is business to take care of. The suspension of his campaign to focus on this incredibly important financial crisis was a sincere effort to look out for the interests of all Americans.
John McCain called for action on Fannie and Freddy years ago, only to be told by democrats that there was no crisis, these institutions were sound. Democrats actually went so far as to say that the only problem was John McCain saying that there was a problem. There have been many times when Senator John McCain has stepped forward and said or done the unpopular, but right thing. Senator McCain is a forward thinking man and he has shown that by word and deed, all of his adult life.
I was disturbed by the absurd accusations that the suspension of his campaign was some sort of political ploy. I was equally upset by the fact that Obama had a, call me if you need me attitude. I wonder if Senator Obama's connections to Acorn had anything to do with distancing himself from the bailout, as the democrats were trying to see that Acorn would profit from the crisis with our tax dollars. If that was the reason for Obama's separation, it may have been a smart move initially as Acorn is under investigation on several charges.
This country needs a man like John McCain to take the lead, shake things up on both sides of the aisle, and look out for the American people. He is a man who understands the hungry, because he spent years enduring the pains of hunger. He understands the need to speak the truth, rather than telling people what they want to hear.
When Senator McCain was urged to return to Washington by the democrats, right before the most important debate of the presidential race, he took action. For the democrats who made the call, it was a ploy. Senator McCain took action and returned in the hopes that he could help bring parties together. It was obvious by all of the back-peddling by the democratic leaders, that they didn't mean what they said, when they called for his involvement. The situation was almost laughable. The democrats know John McCain's history and record. From that history they should understand that when John is called on to lead, he doesn't shy away from a challenge, he meets the challenge, head on.
John McCain is a champion for the American people. His concern for his country is sincere. John McCain was willing to face personal political problems in order to do the job that we, as Americans, are paying him to do as a United States Senator. His sincerity should not be questioned as his motives are quite clear.
