Poetry: The American flag

by Zarrah O'Curren

Created on: October 01, 2008

They Burn the flag across the seas!

Trying to anger me.

I do not care because they can't see the flag I see

They Burn the flag in our homes!

I shake my head at their "freedom of Speech"

And then I look at the flag in front of me

Red, White, and Blue!

The Star Spangled banner

Oh say, Can you see?

It reminds me of the Soldier dying in battle

It reminds me of Washington, Jefferson and Adams

It is my flag

The Symbol that lives forever in my heart

They Burn the flag and all it says is

"I do this because my people are free"
