The number one rule in selling is " you can only sell your product if it is needed or a necessity for the end user". Second is you have to know your products very well. Third, be true! Never lie about your product.
In order to close a sale, you have to specify to your customer that your product is what he needs. The very simple system is to question him of what particular product he is looking for, his answers will make you funnel his needs and you will know on the spot if you have such product to satisfy him. Be very attentive, write down if possible. Once you have answered his needs, you can make him commit to buy it. Very simple, very easy, just follow the simple steps of selling. Ask the customer what he needs, ask him "if you could answer his needs will he buy it?". Present an answer or solution to his problem, then ask again "isn't this what you are looking for?". Once he say yes then he is committed to buy from you. Never sell anything that is not needed. Don't waste your time and efforts by struggling to show or present all your products. Question and answer, you ask he answers. After presentation of your solution or product, specify the benefits rather than the product alone. Pricing is also very important. One very effective way is the hamburger system. You present the price like a hamburger or a sandwich. Benefit-Price-Benefit, this way they remember the benefits and not the price in particular. There would be instances that you product will be compared to other products. When this situation occur, you have to know the competitions disadvantages. Never be untruthful, do not fool your customers. Last but not the least, courtesy, honesty and superb customer service. Once you have done these few simple steps, you will be a very effective salesperson.
