Werewolf
Cold.
The dark earth is cold.
These streets are cold.
Wandering alone amongst your kind
You hear me no more than
You hear the fog.
Silent as the stars above,
I hunt,
Searching for fresh lifesblood.
You Humans deny my existence.
But it wouldn't help you if you did believe.
You wouldn't know what you were seeing.
You couldn't believe,
Until my claws tear through your flesh,
And strong jaws snap your bones like twigs.
Then you would believe,
In the scant seconds before
Death rushes to meet you.
You Humans are all the same.
Short-lived Mortals with narrow minds.
Meandering through your miserable
Little lives,
Unable to see or hear
What is truly around you.
How many times have you passed me now?
How many times have you glanced at my eyes,
And seen nothing wrong, nothing strange?
Be careful when the Full Moon rises.
Until then I am as normal as you,
Another measly Human.
But as I am bathed
In the Full Moon's rays,
My fingers lengthen
Into sharpened claws,
Shaggy fur covers me,
And a set of razor-sharp fangs
Drool in anticipation
Of your blood.
I can hear your heartbeat
From a mile away.
I can smell your steely fear
When you realize I am there.
Go ahead and walk home,
Alone, late at night.
I may not be hungry.
Or maybe I will.
As your crimson blood flows
And your life ebbs away,
You'll see me for what I am.
That's right,
Stop looking over your shoulder.
Pretend you're not afraid.
I know better.
Stopping under the streetlamp?
How amusing!
Dinner in the spotlight.
I'm tired of this game.
Bye for now.
Ah, there you are!
I hear your key in the door.
I knew you were coming.
I smelled your blood,
As you turned the corner onto our road.
I'm here dearest.
How was your day?
Come to the bedroom.
I'm waiting for you.
I'm here in the dark corner.
It's only me, my dear.
Your dear lover that
You know so well.
Don't you recognize me?
Why do you scream so?
When your few remains are found,
I'll be long gone,
So don't worry about me.
Why do you try to flee?
I love you,
So I'll make this quick.
