Moonlit Garden

Silver moonlight lights my path
Starlight shines on my golden hair
Night black as pitch
Paints red roses deep purple

Silver starlight shines in my eyes
Fireflies dance like golden embers
The black of night swallows my shadow
Red shines my anger at your leaving, but the bruises on my soul stain it purple

I follow the silvery path
Heading for your golden tomb
My clothes are only black now
Accented with your red brooch and my purple sash

Silver shines the tombstones in this garden of the dead
Its flowers were once joyous in the golden days of yore
Only black wraiths keep me company here
Their red eyes follow me and mock the faint purple rings under my eyes

Silvery stars twinkle at me as I study the sky
I wonder if that golden one is you
Do you now shine brightly in that black abyss
Ever since your red lifesblood stained that purple armor you so loved

I pass the last few stones, silver stones that mark our family
And kneel at your golden tomb
When the blackness comes to claim me, I will join you here, my liege
Until then I leave for you these red roses tied in a purple sash
