Women should not have the right to choose abortion because irresponsibility is just generally unacceptable. This is in reference to abortions being performed out of pure selfishness - not in cases of rape or incest or if the mother's life is in danger. Those specific cases should be a personal choice between a patient and her doctor.
A woman already has the right to choose to have sex. She has the choice to use protection of some kind, and the choice to keep her legs together. If a baby results from one of those choices becoming a bad choice in hindsight, why should the baby pay for mom's "mistake" or carelessness? It's not the child's fault. If this baby doesn't fit into this woman's "plan" then obviously her plan didn't mean that much to her since she didn't take all necessary precautions to protect it.
Everything happens for a reason. If a so-called moment of weakness occurs resulting in a child then that child was meant to be here. Future plans can be tweaked. Maybe the path this woman is on isn't the path she should be taking. To eliminate the child would basically be saying she is above God. This is a LIFE. We as a society generally look down upon murderers who have taken away the futures of their victims. People who felt that they were entitled to say when and how someones life ended because this victim interfered with theirs. That is exactly what an abortion is. The only difference is murder is illegal and abortions aren't.
If a woman is pregnant and is the victim of a car accident and her baby dies, the driver at fault is held accountable on charges as high as manslaughter in some states. If the baby counts then, why doesn't it count in any other case?
A woman becomes a mother at conception! Between conception and the 8th week every vital organ that is needed to live forms. It's a child. Regardless of how he or she came to be - it's a human life and we as adults have no right to snuff out that life just because we aren't ready. There are too many cases of "It won't happen to me" syndrome and parents who think if they don't mention sex to their children that they won't learn it anywhere else. Sex is a human reflex. Mating is a reflex. Whether people know what it is or not they will know how to do it. Therefore, consequences, and prevention should be taught from a reasonable age so that women of all ages make the right choices and don't have to find themselves in this predicament.
So as previously stated: Women have plenty of chances to make the choices to avoid pregnancy. Murder shouldn't be one of them.
