Poetry: Come to me

Standing in the darkness; looking all around

I used to hear my life; but now it makes no sound

I looked across the meadow; wondered through the sea

Wondering all along can anyone hear me

I was awakende by a roar

Before I could wake; I was on shore

Fell before the rocks; sand in my hair

I said, come to me Lord

There's no more misery this heart can afford

I could hear whispering; saying don't you dare

I lifted up my lifeline in a cold dark place

Right before I ended it; I saw his shining face

Please don't do it: I heard him exclaim

I will forgive and take away your shame

I will bring you laughter

If that is what your after

This voice said, I will bring you love

It had to be God from above

It takes a certain kind of love to pull you through a storm

A certain kind of love to keep you toasty and warm

When life gets the best of you and pulls you to your knees

Cry out to God, please God, please

Take away this pain and fill my heart with joy

Heal up my soul with your word and take away this decoy

Help me pursue the road of righteouness never fall away

Prepare me Lord for the big judgement day

I heard the sound of clapping

I lifted my eyes to see

The great throne of judgement, sitting before me

Oh Lord I beg and plead

On that cross you did bleed

To end the pain and strife

To give everlasting life

You called me to your prescence and asked me how I've done

You welcomed me with joy and Lord I did run

I fell before your throne

And let out a high pitched groan

A sigh of relief from all my grief

No more battling satan that terrorizing theif

Thank you dear saviour

For putting up with my behaviour

You found me in gloom

And healed up every wound

You gave me everlasting peace and love

Finally, I knew that I was in heaven above
