Review of Optimus Appartus by Stolpskott Studios

Rating : 1/5

I wanted to give the game a zero, but i felt it was unfair, so i gave it a 1 for effort.

The game is basicly a space shooter with gravity thrown into the mess. The idea is good, but it's so poorly executed that you may want to put your head in a fishbowl while you play, at least in that way no one can hear you scream your lungs out because your mind hurts from this experience.

The graphics looks like they have been drawn and colored by hand (with ink pens and poorly done i might add). Sound is more or less non existant or extremely low. So the only thing this game has going for it is the gameplay, which sadly is also a poorly done.

So why is this so horribly bad ? Well when you enter the game there is a menu..which is horrible, there is hardly any options to fiddle with (screen resolution, sound etc are missing). The menu looks like it makes you want to run away screaming, which i by some weird urge of self punishment didn't listen to.

Select new game, ok here we go..hmm color and change my ugly spaceship, alright, done, now my spaceship looks like an angry bee. ok start the game..ok, i can move forward and back up down turn my ship around fire my weapons, but where is my enemies ? Ok, read the manual, ahh this is the base where i can upgrade and do stuff to my ship nice. etc etc etc. Thing is, i, a more or less experienced gamer spent 15 minutes figuring out how to get away from my base and into the fight. Not to mention thinking about how i could comment on the graphics that looks like a 2 year olds coloring book, i have seen better graphics on a Commodore 64 20 years ago !

so to summon it all up (i simply can't stand to play this any longer).

Great idea, but done so bad it really makes you wanna run away screaming, cry or commit suicide, it is to be honest one of the worst games i have ever seen(and i have had the pleasure of playing some real stinkers in my time).

So do yourself a favor, stay away from this game, because until it get's a graphic, sound and presentation overhaul it isn't worth spending any time on.
