The Ideal Workplace

Everyone who is working dreams of an ideal workplace. To me, an ideal workplace is a place where every employee can really feel at home with. When an employee feels comfortable with his or her workplace, he or she will perform better. This is how, I believe, one can make a workplace comfortable:

1. The workplace must be safe at all times. If the employees fear for their own safety while working, their performance will be adversely affected as he or she cannot concentrate well. If something unpleasant happens because of a breech in the safety rules, the organization can be in a lot of trouble.

2. There must be good ventilation at the workplace so that the employees can breath in fresh air every time. A poorly ventilated place can cause employees to feel drowsy which is turn makes them perform not up to the expected standard as their concentration is affected.

3. Each employee must have a comfortable seat to sit on unless the nature of the job requires him or her to stand most of the time. An employee must not be forced to stand unless it is really necessary. Important items must be easily reached.

4. The workstation of each employee must be designed in accordance to good ergonomics, and general safety to reduce the chances of getting injured. Stress must be put the minimum while operating machineries and equipments.

5. There must be a extramural activities employees can join to help enhance their performance, boost up their morale, and improve their relationship with another. When employees can relate well with one another, they can perform better.

6. There must be activities to help maintain good relationship between the employer and the employees; and to help improve the relationship whenever necessary. If the the employer and the employees are relating well with one another, the employees will be more willing work to the best of his or her ability for the good of the organization.

7. There must a program that helps employees to stay healthy as many days as possible to reduce absenteeism. With less absenteeism, the company can produce more to earn more. Work will be more manageable for a person with less absenteeism. If there is a cafeteria, employees must be served healthy food so that they can remain healthy.

8. Employees must be given routine medical checks to ensure they are always well enough to work.

With a safe place to work at and good relationship, both employers and employees can work together to earn good profits for the organization and produce whatever is required of it by the people.
