It is really fun to be in water especially if it adds to your adventurous spirit. You could just go out there and enjoy the calmness of the rivers but you could also look for some adventures through the roughness offered by some rivers.
I had seen in movies and other television shows some of the roughest waters in the world and I could see how kayakers and rafters love these scenarios. The rougher the water is, the more enjoyment they get from it. Therefore, for you to be able to determine which type is best for you, it is a good way to have a thorough knowledge of the levels and types of water rapids available.
The knowledge about the rapids would greatly help both the beginners and advanced rafters for them to truly enjoy their experience. Beginners can just choose the rapids that belong to lower levels while the advanced kayakers can choose the higher levels of rapids.
Here is the white water grading system that would help you in your white water rafting experience:
CLASS 1
In this class, there are no skills required when it comes to white water rafting since this type of water is calm with only small rough areas. This is ideal for beginners who are just improving their skills when it comes to watersports.
CLASS 2
This type of water is still calm but with more rough areas than the first classification. The basic skills in paddling are needed in this type of water classification. There could also be some small rocks in this type.
CLASS 3
The experience paddlers can make it through this type of water rapids. Waves are already present from small to medium and good maneuvering skills may already be required. This is already considered to have whitewater.
CLASS 4
There are great drops and large rocks and waves in this type of water classification. The paddler needs to have excellent skills in paddling and he needs to exhibit good maneuvering skills for him to be able to make it through the water rapids.
CLASS 5
This classification is for those who want to experience great adventure with their watersports experience. This type has really huge rocks and the waves are really rough. The drops are also huge that can be very dangerous. The precision in maneuvering is required in this type. This is already a very dangerous type of white water classification so you truly need to be well experienced in white water rafting before you engage in this class.
Class 6
This is the highest and most dangerous classification. This could even harm one's life so this is never advisable for beginners as well as for those who have insufficient experience in rafting. There are a lot of big waves and big rocks and even the water drops are powerful enough to throw you away. There is a need to use water crafts that exhibit good mechanical skills and anyone who wants to engage in this type of water experience should really think well before he goes in this type of water rapids.
Now that you already know the white water grading system, you really need to think first before you choose the white water grade that you think would be suited for your level of experience.
