Purge
.
I walked by you on the street,
And I was screaming out for help,
But you averted your eyes
And plugged your ears
To the story I had to tell.
Why do you treat me like this no?
Wasn't it just yeasterday
That your boyfriend cheated
And I sat by you
Until the sadness fell away?
But you desert me now.
There's no sympathy in your eyes;
You see me struggling to breathe,
So you stomp on my hand
As I cling on for dear life.
All these emotions inside me
Are fighting to get out,
But there's no release.
So, I brush back the tears
And replace them with a smile.
.
You knew.
Don't act like you were blind
To what I was going through.
Yeah, my problems aren't yours,
But I need you.
I thought that's what friends were for.
It's tearing at my gut,
Ripping me at the seams.
It's burning inside
So, it's got to come out
Before it takes over me.
.

I indulge myself,
Then I let go until there's nothing else.
(Purge)
It's dark in here,
But when it's over, the sky becomes crystal clear.
(Purge)
It hurts sometimes,
At the same time, it helps me relieve my mind.
(Purge)
Yeah, it's wrong to do,
But when it's done, I get over the pain and you.
.
I feel all better now,
But that only lasts awhile.
It's a temporary solution,
Binding me up,
An addicting lifestyle.
Sometimes I just need an ear,
Sometimes just someone's hand.
Pull me out of this ditch,
I'm alone down here.
I really thought you were my friend.
All these emotions inside me
Are fighting to get out.
No one wants to know;
It's too much info,
But I'm suffocating now.
I'm a victim here,
But nobody wants to help,
So I pull back my sleeve
And go back to that place,
A distraction I know so well.
.

(Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa)
A MOTHER: "No!
Doctor save my daughter!"
(Purge)
"She needed me."
(Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa)
A FATHER: "My son's in jail,
I'll call my lawyer!"

"Why didn't I see?"
(Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa)
A BEST FRIEND: "My friend killed herself."
Didn't I know her?"
(Purge)
"In her suicide note, she mentioned me."
(Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa)
A CORONER: "It was an overdose,
It wasn't murder."
(Purge)
"How can this be?"

Shattering glass all around, nowhere left to fall
Wondering if it's worth it, to live through it all
Shatter the unshattered,
