Pay-as-you-go cellular plans are still available from most mobile phone providers and they suit a variety of users. People who do not use their mobile phone as a primary phone line often do not want to pay an ongoing plan fee. Initial set up costs are more expensive because you need to buy your phone outright but, you can save in the long run because you do not pay for unused usage or expensive excess usage charges.
Prepaid mobile phone plans do not require expensive monthly costs if you do not use your mobile phone on a regular basis. For some people the mobile phone is used for emergencies only or a secondary phone. Why pay alot of money for calls that you never make on a mobile phone? You may prefer the humble landline or provide a mobile phone for your child in emergencies. With pay-as-you-go cellular plans you avoid adding another monthly bill but still have the mobile versatility.
Prepaid mobile phones still offer periods of free calls that apply for the life of the phone. For example: free calls between certain hours (some are 4-5pm, others after 8pm), ten free local calls each day or ten free texts each day in addition to the credit you purchase. There are also regular bonus offers. Win free credit, holiday bonus credit specials or buy 30- and get double the value.
The added versatility with pay-as-you-go cellular plans is you can vary the amount you spend on the phone each month. One month you spent 10- on prepaid credit and the next month while you are on holidays you can spend 30- or even 100- for that month. The cost for individual calls does not sky-rocket once you use more than the plan you signed up for.
An added bonus is a user can change their phone and still continue the prepaid plan. Simply by swapping the card enables you to replace or update your mobile phone and not break any contracts.
Pay-as-you-go cellular plans may be right for you if you require added versatility. Changes in usage are easily accomodated, saving you money. Changes to your phone do not break any contracts and discounted offers are still available. Prepaid mobile phone usage is still a significant mobile market.
