We all need to exercise,be you fit,not so fit,not fit at all.
But do we need exercise? Life keeps us so busy, I mean do I really need more running around?
The average person gets up at 7am, then goes to work or school, and if you are like me spends a lot of time in front of the computer, at a table, sitting in a chair,EXERCISING the brain, perhaps getting one good meal a day and just grateful to go to bed at night.
Exercise does not really fit into my daily routine, and I'll tell you why, its because like so many other people out there I'm just too lazy!
I could get up earlier say at 6am instead of 7am and go for a run or jog around my neighborhood, I could go to the gym, even take a short 30 minute walk, but no, I'd rather stay in bed and sleep, and believe me it feels much better!
Perhaps I could work out at night? after a hard day at school or work I could take a short walk!
I don't think so, I'd rather watch prison break,or house,or NCIS,maybe do some studying, then practice how to make a perfect pizza!
I could find some one else like me?Some lazy soul who knows the importance of exercise, yet takes no steps to getting any.
I can bet there are thousands of us out there. We could start a club even! "The long hard road to exercise club",where we would meet at least once a week and discuss how important it is to get up and go out there to exercise,we could watch exercise tapes and read books on exercise and maybe on special occasions we would actually do some exercise! Now I'm excited about the club, any takers?
I could take up a sport? Tennis? Soccer, basketball anyone? But that takes so much time, finding a team to join, or someone to coach me or even someone to play with.Besides, after the first game,I'll be all sore,in pain and not ready to play for at least another two weeks! So taking up a sport does not work, I have been there!
Join an aerobics class? I actually took kick-boxing once, it was fun the three times I attended.
I really would like to be more active, I don't need it you say (Blush!) thanks so much, God has blessed me, no one really knows how my muscles are in desperate need of exercise, how I huff and puff when climbing to the 4th floor from the 1st floor(Why was the elevator broken today?)But I look good? Awww! thanks you are too kind!Really! I need to break out of my non exercise slump and start working out,I hope to run a marathon one day,(I can hear the laughter of those who know me)!
No really, I'm going to make a change turn my life around and start exercising, because I need to!
But until then, I'll just have to suffice with walking to my car, then walking from the train station and back, climbing the stairs when the elevator is broken and dreaming of the day when I'm fit enough to run in that marathon!
